all india institute of medical sciences was established by an act of parliament in 1956, as an autonomous institution of national importance. it is now the leading institution in the field of medical education
eligibility criteria:
- must be citizen of india
- must have attained or will attain the age of 17 years as on december 31 of the year of admission
- must have passed class xii under 10+2 scheme with any recognised bord/university with english, physics, chemistry and biology as subjects
- must have obtained 60% marks in aggregate (50% for sc/st candidates) in english, physics, chemistry and biology

chemistry: 40 mcq + 20 a/r

- last date of submission of forms: mid feb
- date of entrance test: june 1

selection procedure:
- a merit list is prepared separately for general, sc and st candidates from those who appeared in exam
- for each category on the merit list in case two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in entrance exam, the inter-se merit list of such candidates in each category shall be determined in order of preference as follows:
- candidate obtaining higher marks in bio in entrance test
- candidate obtaining higher marks in chemistry in entrance test
- candidate obtaining higher marks in physics in entrance test
- candidate older in age to be preferred
